Custom CRM

Custom CRM, or a platform configured to you?

Most firms look at a custom CRM because off-the-shelf software made them work its way. There are three routes: live with the workarounds, build your own, or start from a platform that already runs a business and configure it to yours.

IllustrationConfigured, not built: your owners, your rules, the gap shown first.
The three routes

Off-the-shelf, a bespoke build, or configured

Each is the right answer for somebody. The difference is where you start and who carries the software afterwards.

When to build

When a custom build really is the answer

We build custom software for a living, so this isn’t a sales line. Build your own when:

  • Your process is genuinely unlike anyone else’s, and that difference is your advantage
  • The software is part of what you sell to customers, not just how you run the business
  • You need to own the code outright
  • What you need sits outside sales, delivery, billing and ownership altogether

If that’s you, see Scorchsoft’s bespoke web app development.

When to configure

When a configured platform fits better

  • What you need is the joins: sales to delivery, delivery to billing, promises to owners
  • You want it working on one workflow soon, then growing
  • You’d rather not carry the maintenance of your own system
  • You want AI on your own records, with permissions, without building that yourself

Not sure which? Scorchsoft’s Managed AI & Automation Improvement Programme starts from where your time and money leak and recommends the simplest fix: configure, build, or neither.

Configured, not built

What “configured to you” means in OpsUPLOOP

Every instance includes the platform: one set of records, each person’s permissions and AI assistants. You switch on the modules you need: Outreach, Sales, Billing and Delivery.

We shape it to you: report types, statuses, fields, approval and chase rules, and who sees what. We connect your CRM and accounts, or hold leads and deals in OpsUPLOOP.

Something genuinely new is scoped separately, and only if it’s the simplest thing that works.

Questions
Is OpsUPLOOP a bespoke CRM?

Not in the blank-page sense. Every customer starts from the same platform, the one Scorchsoft runs on, deployed as their own instance. Most configure it; some have it made to measure, extended with their own workflows and connectors, and hosted by Scorchsoft or in their own environment. Bespoke starts from a blank page; made to measure starts from a proven pattern and alters it to fit you.

Can OpsUPLOOP be our CRM?

It can be either. OpsUPLOOP can be your CRM, holding your leads, deals and customers itself. Or it can sit on top of the CRM you already run, connected through its API, as a reporting and control layer that extends what your CRM does and joins it to billing, delivery and ownership. We confirm exactly what your instance holds and connects to before you commit.

What if we need something OpsUPLOOP doesn’t do?

Then your version can be made to measure: Scorchsoft extends it with what your firm needs, on the same records and permissions. If what you need shares nothing with OpsUPLOOP at all, that is a custom build, which Scorchsoft also does.

Should we build our own CRM instead?

Sometimes, yes: when your process is genuinely unlike anyone else’s, or the software is part of what you sell. The section above lists when. Scorchsoft builds custom software too, so we’ll tell you which one you need.
